TRANSFORM: Leaders Cohort 2023-24

an exploratory learning experience for districts interested in learner-centered systems change

TRANSFORM: Leaders Cohort, led by the Ohio Department of Education, KnowledgeWorks and a consortium of Education Service Center (ESC) partners, will select up to twelve (12) districts who will explore strategic steps toward learner-centered systems change in Ohio during the 2023-24 academic year.


WHO: District personalized learning leadership team including superintendent, curriculum leader, 1-3 Principals (preferably one principal per major grade span), instructional coach leader, data leader and up to 5 additional leaders.


WHAT: Participating districts will engage in a self-assessment process, which can serve as a roadmap for the planning and implementation of personalized, competency-based learningThese school districts will receive guidance, personalized coaching and technical support to pursue their vision for a district-wide personalized, competency-based learning system.

Expectations

TRANSFORM Cohort Commitments

1. Self-Assessment & Goal Setting: Participating school districts agree to lead a self-assessment and planning process to identify readiness, strengths and opportunities for growth and action across the district.

2. Coaching: KnowledgeWorks coaches will provide real-time, personalized support to each TRANSFORM district. Virtual, recurring monthly calls will serve as a check-in for personalized technical assistance and support for each district leader cohort.

3. In Person Convenings and Virtual Meetings: Districts will attend four (4) in-person convenings and three, 2-hour virtual meetings during the 2023-24 school year. View Proposed Schedule.

4. Participation in Data Collection and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Activities: TRANSFORM districts will participate in quantitative and/or qualitative data collection activities to aid in a cycle of continuous improvement, learning and action planning.

Application and Selection Process

Open to all school districts in Ohio

  • 1. Conversation

    Schedule a meeting to tell us about your personalized learning journey. Conversations should include district superintendent, assistant superintendent or designee.

  • 2. Commitment

    The commitment form should be completed by your district superintendent, assistant superintendent or designee.

  • 3. Communication

    Communication to final TRANSFORM teams will be made by August 18, 2023
